The Nashorn looks great! I have one that I started building 2 years ago, and just recently started back up (life got in the way). I got 3 kits of the Dragon kit NO 6165: Hornisse, early variant. I was inspired to build them after a trip to Aberdeen Proving Grounds a few years back. Look forward to seeing the completed product, and it looks awesome so far!

Looks great Andy, you'll be doing pro-builds if you keep this quality up mate .
I like the restraint used on chipping around the gun, it makes a good change from the over-chipping we see these days, lol [It sometimes looks like "they" tried to fire the gun with a sledge hammer, lol].
Regards Steve

Why would the clowns not let people into the tent? What's the point of the show if they don't? .

Thanks! This has turned out to be the most intricate AFV model I have built. Have you started up a vBench yet?

Thanks, Tim & James for providing and posting the pics. That interior shot of the starboard ammo rack was the most helpful. The shield over the radio rack is included as a PE Part, but the instructions are very vague.

Thanks, Steve, good to hear from you again! As usual, you are far too kind!

No problem, glad that they were of use to you.

A brief update on some of the finishing touches...

The travel lock latch cable (left) made from 32 gauge annealed steel wire. I used the provided clear parts for the Periscopes (right), using silver for mirrored surfaces, transparent green for glass surfaces, and Nato Black/Dark Yellow for the casings. They also got a small amount of chipping and washes.

Cleaning rods made from brass rod with the brackets made from brass sheet (left). The kit-provided jack installed (left).

If I were to wire the headlamp, where does the wire enter the hull?

Thanks for taking a look.

No, not yet. still trying to figure a few things out. The Hornisse I am currently finishing was already 80% completed. Just putting together the tracks, and minor details. It is, for the most part, a test tank in every sense of the word! Like I said, have not built anything for a while so its getting me back up to skill. My next build I will take photos, etc.

I found an interesting build log for that model here:

http://hsfeatures.com/features04/hornissecw_1.htm

I'm looking forward to seeing your work. It's always good to see different modelers' approaches to various aspects of modeling. I've been a member almost a year and I've learned a ton!

Cheers,

Andy

Not kind at all, but I am a little bit jealous. Even on a good day you are doing better than me .
