Painting process started...

Hello everyone,
Jess, my boss is not latino, he is Hungarian but learnt in Barcelona, Spain for years - I forwarded your greetings and we are calling him "jefe" recently
For now I started painting this little tank (my overall slow building process was even slowed down further by starting a new project, a Gaz-AAA), first primed with Tamiya grey primer:

Then I pre-shaded the panel-lines and darker areas (the turret's star is "inverse-masked", based white and then masked with the star, so finally I hope I will see a white star on the olive drab turret):

After base-coating with Gunze olive drab, I made a lighter mixture (some white in the OD) and sprayed lightly the centers of the panels. The photos does not really mirror the real effect as my lighting and my camera are far from perfect - later I'll do some pictures with natural lighting and will show the real colors and effects.

... and finally a picture of the Beast in the Cage. He ate lots of carrots and apples and decided to sleep a bit.

cheers,
Zsolt

Szia Zsolt!

Nice painting as well! The preshading is visible on the photos, don't worry!
Will this one visible at the contest in Szolnok?

(can you tell me the code of the Gunze olive drab? Like this color, but don't know the correct code. )

I dunno, I've been working on a M3 Lee since May 2009. I won't count some of the older tanks because I stopped working on them. I'll start again soon, but for now, I've been working on the Lee for nine months.

Hello guys,
Thanks for your kind words!
Coops, this rabbit has a very strong defender - my wife.
Don, I'll not attend the contest in Szolnok unfortunately - We'll have some more important things to do those days. I use Gunze Aqueous Hobby H304 olive drab. I like Gunze to spray...

For today: I had all day for modelling and made some progress. Painted the interior and put ammo shells around the floor and other small thingies to make it look like a busy tank interior. Also painted the rubber-track black and masked it before stepping to the olive drab paint stage of the underside.

And finally painted the underside but glued together the two halves before. I'm pleased with the result and preparing to paint the registration numbers, insignias and everything others before the weathering.

that's all for today...
cheers,
Zsolt
