Well, the answer to that original question is that they are quite thin. Not tin can thin, but certainly not armour plate thick. They were never meant to repel projectiles from a gun, but to fend off hand granades etc.

yea that was my question.. can't really build mud guards as original in 1/48 =) actually i can't build them at all.. too small and to few skills for now, just wanted to know cause i wanted to make them turned up but since they are thick i'll just leave them in normal position..
but i did build my first side skirts and exaust covers.. woohoo =)

one more thing guys... i'm planing on buying vallejo colors for first time..
what would be best vallejo model colors for german tricolor camo?
dunkelgelb - Dark sand MC123 ?
olivegrun - Olive green MC082 ?
rostbraun - Chocolate brown MC149 ?

I'm using these Vallejo Air colors for my German tri-colour work:





I usually tone it all down using diluted base colour (Sand Brown (as Dunkelgelb), and then move on to filters etc.

yea i saved that picture a long time ago
but i'm planing on buying normal color not air since you get more color for same price when you thin it down but they don't have same codes grrr

Hehe, know what you mean but a bottle of Vallejo Air will last you a while, and for my own part I've never really figured out how to airbrush Vallejo Model Color properly. Always had trouble getting the right combination of thinning, pressure etc.

Vallejo Air is super simple, and I'm willing to pay for that.

Maybe Vallejo's own suggestion are OK?

and shipping from other countries is a bit too much for my financial situation right now (=

I was only thinking you can look at the Panzer Color set and see which colours are included in the set. To me it looks like they use the following Model Color:

70916 as yellow
70890 as green
70872 as brown
