Gents. Was visiting the new MDFC armor club forum and I came across this bit of information:

Looks interesting, and I wonder how this kit will compare with the Tristar Pz Kpfw IV Ausf C ?

Cheers !!

Robert

Two things:

1. That IV C reminds me a lot of a variation of Tom Cockles (a little dio he made...I know James posted some images of it somewhere here)...At least that gas pump looks familiar.

2. Isn't that real pic a pic of the Ausf D at Aberdeen?

Looks cool, but where is that early production Tiger they have listed as a future release? Seems like Dragon, AFV Club, and Tristar all tend to do the same thing at the same time. A while ago it was 251s, then Tigers, and now early Panzer IVs.

Guys...

I'm glad you picked up on my salute to Tom Cockle with the use of his PzIVC build in his new Osprey book.
I owe Tom a lot!

Yes, I did get his permission.

And yes that is the Aberdeen PzIVD

Take care,
Doug.

PS,
James, thanks for the heads up,
I will post some pics of my Aberdeen SU100 soon...It's almost ready for paint.

Alright Doug that would be great. Just get Gordy to set you up a vBench when you are ready.

You pop up everywhere Doug lol

Can I ask, does the kit come with a gas pump (if you know)? Because that would be nifty! and a nice early war panzer crew...that would be the best

R.C.

Sorry, I didn't pick up on your name, just saw the nicname...
Wish I could help with the kit's contents.
I have absolutely no idea what's included. (I'd be very surprised if there were figures...)

By the way, I still haven't gotten a reply to my Dragon model club application yet.

Take care,

Doug

No problem Doug.

It seems like they would have told ya something, at least hints as to what they wanted...unless, you have some sort of agreement that you can't say anything about it, which I would understand...

And the same here with Dragon's club...maybe we should start a club and call it the Anti-Dragon Armor Club Club lol j/k

And the box art for the IV C looks real cool Doug. That's a real neat scene there...Did you do the box art for the IV D too? Because that seriously looks awesome too...Nothing like an action pose

Doug, I assume from this quote and also from a couple of the other posts above that you did the box art for the PzIVC. I just have to say, although I'm a big Ron Volstad fan, I also like some variety, and this one looks fantastic!

Cheers,
Mike

Guys...

Thanks for the positive feedback.
I'm a fan of Ron's work too. And James' and Y Takani's and H Rokusya...
I take from all of them...eventually I'd like to be able to do justice to them.
I'm sure Dragon would like me to speed up the process as well.

Thanks again,

Doug

PS.
R.C., I really don't know what's in a kit I do the boxart for.
Dragon usually just emails me a series of elevations of the vehicle they want illustrated.
Maybe James could elaborate...
