Nice box art. For the T34 illiterate among us, what makes this one different from previous releases?

Hard to say without seeing the contents. It will be based on #6452, their recent Zavod No.112 kit. I suspect the differences will be minor — new periscopes and the fuel tanks on the rear, and they may include the armoured MG shield (not illustrated). They may, or may not include the correct tow hooks for the rear — I think that unlikely, since they properly belong on the earlier tanks. They might also throw in a late-pattern drive wheel from a T-34-85. Other than that, there's not much to choose between the early and late versions. Bear in mind, too, that all this is speculation.

(added) Also worth mentioning is that the Sormovo turrets from 1942-1943 lacked the removable plate on the rear of the turret, and that the interlocking front plate was eventually phased out.

Cheers
Scott Fraser

Great artwork James! This is a CyberHobby release for those in North America and Japan. Scott mentions the new periscopes, (turret side vision ports too), hand holds (used often for spare track) on the glacis plate, only one choice of transmission access, new fuel tanks...I will get more information soon and post it as well as any corrections.

Regards,

Nice box art James. I can see your artwork evolving with each boxart. The colours are more vibrant and I like the contracst between the shadows and the sun lit areas. Nice touches with the cast number and the headlight is well done. But where are the countersunk screws on the Tiger barrel sleeve?

Regards,
So I take it it will be a green box release? Looks good an like the others mentioned I doubt there will be little changed. May end up with alot of spare parts though. It a great time to be a T-34 nut although I still am waiting for the hex turrets to start coming out.

Someone writing a thesis on Das Reich during Operation Citadelle informs me that only two tigers were lost. One was to a Soviet Armored Train while the other was to Soviet artillery. Nonetheless, the artwork is excellent!

Cheers,
