On sprue strecthing...

Every manufacturer uses a different formula, so it will behave differently when you heat it and stretch it. I have friends who swear that Tamiya's sprues are the best for easy consistent sections. I haven't stretched enough to form an opinion yet.

Stretching plastic pipes (hollow rods) will make them thinner and maintain the hollow nature. Perfect for making gun barrels, pipes, and so on.
