RPM FT-17 Track Sprue

Hi All--in the RPM FT-17 kit, there is an extra sprue with about 9 track links. I want to get a couple of these to experiment to see if I could make them properly and then go ahead and get a full set...

Does Somebody Keep Info on WWII Armored Serial Numbers?

I would guess that tanks and other tracked vehicles were issued serial numbers to keep track of them by the Army. Does anybody know if there were stats kept by the US Army telling what tanks died...
