A 1/9th scale diorama/vignette.
Scratch-built 8-valve board-track racer along with Sculpted Figure and fabricated section of board-track.

Here is a photo of the walnut diorama base with 'mock-up' of bike and board track strips on base.

Much more to be done and many, many more in-progress photos to come.

Roy,

It is understandable to be "curious" if this build is a "military bike". I also thank you for the complement that means much to me and is much appreciated.

To answer your question, the motorcycle is actually a "civilian" or to be more accurate,
a racing/competition subject in miniature.

Yes, I (and those that know me) am known to scratch-build large scale military motorcycles.
in this rare case 'non-military'.

With my further interest and investment with PlanetArmor, I encourage any seriously interested model builders to register with PlanetArmor, get a "vBench" and share their skills, techniques, ideas, thoughts in model building.

I hope that clears up some of the "curiosity" that has been in the recent "buz"...for now.

thank you again,

AWD

hondatech2k2,

Thank you very much for the compliment and for inspiring me to continue posting my "civilian" scratch-build here on PlanetArmor.

Magnificant, Alex

Once again, your work inspires. Will there be one of your great figures accompanying this?

Wuzzup?

Okay, well you know I think all your work rocks already, so I'll spare you the smoke up your tail-pipe :p:D

I'm intrigued by the following statement (and forgive me if I missed an announcement): Wuzzup?

The bikes looks wonderful, Alex. Did you hand lace the spokes?

update: walnut base and board-track inlay

14 Attachment(s)
Here is a photo update on the progression of the construction of the diorama base made of walnut and board-track strips in-laid in the base.
Walnut rectangle base (with routed edge) walnut fence, & crate wood strips were cut and planed by Master Craftsman, Mr. Patrick.

You can see in the photos, Mr. Patrick measuring the the thickness of the walnut fence strips and crate wood strips.

The crate wood strips were cut and planed to an exact 1/9th scale measurement of 2-inches X 4-inches.

The walnut base with glued in mitered fence walnut strips was given a finish treatment of Polyurethane Clear Gloss by Minwax.

The crate wood 1/9th scale 2X4 board-track strips were given a treatment of Golden Oak stain by Minwax.

The board-track strips were angel cut with the aid of a miter box, fitted & inlaid into the walnut diorama base.

The racer motorcycle fitted on top the board-track section for a view.
thank you for looking.
