How do chains fasten on smoke candle dispenser?

All I have left to build on my DML Panzer IV C is the exhaust and smoke candle dispenser, and I find that I have no idea how the chains are to be attached. The kit provides no help at all and is rather short on detail in that area. I suppose it might help if I knew how they worked, so if anyone could either refer me to some photos or an explanation of their operation I would appreciate it.

Hi

On my model I just glued them with one link on the candle and the other end link on the holder. ;)

Yeah, that's what I'm about to do too unless I can come up with something a little more precise sometime soon.

Well look on the bright side, no one will be able to see much of them anyway.;)

Michael, I did a drawing for you if it helps. The clip looks like a dog lead clip or something similiar to what you'd find on a set of kids reins.

The pull on the grenade from the drop must trigger a friction ignitor. Make sense??

BTW, you weren't in the Doobie Brothers were you? :)

Thanks a lot Andrew. That helps a lot. I have some pretty grave doubts as to just how accurately I can model them but I can try.

As to the Doobie Brothers, yes, sadly enough, that was me. Call me weak, but I simply found all the money, fame, drugs, and women tedious. But worst of all I can't stand to hear me sing.

....and if you believe that I'll tell you another one.

Here is an illustration from a Voyager set for an early type for a Pz. III.

Thanks a lot for the info. I must apologize for not having responded to your reply for so long but the fact of the matter is that I checked the thread for a week or so and then, as it was apparently sliding down the ladder into oblivion, I stopped checking it. The illustration certainly clarifies matters. Thanks again.

Michael
