Sdkfz 250/5 Neu

Hello Everyone!

Inspired by Siim’s fast built Tiger I, I decided to do a straight out of the box project while I am away from home working. I took this model with me, the Sd.kfz 250/5 Neu from Dragon.

I can only work on it for about half an hour a day. Here is where it stands after one week of work.

The front tires didn’t fit properly, and left a gap running down the middle of the tire, so I had to file them down on the inside to get the proper fit.

Until next week

If I'm not mistaken, from looking at period photographs, that gap in the middle should be there.

Nice start David, I love these half tracks they remind me of hot rods.:thumb:
Also Panzerfaust is right, the gap is meant to be there [ with the tread pattern offset between each half].:)

oops. ;)

Thanks for pointing that out guys!

I did leave a small gap since it looked too wide. But I did manage to find some photos of the tires with the wide gap. It shouldnít be a problem to fix. Hopefully I will have a chance to do it this weekend.

Thanks for the interest Lawrence. It will be posting some updates this weekend.

By the way, anybody has some decent shots of the interior on one of these  I have only 2 or 3 photos, so any other would be greatly welcome.
Thanks for viewing.
